Cup Your Arousal

2 min read

There are two ways of working with arousal.

Stroking it. Cupping it.

If you feel dead inside, stroke yourself to life.
If you feel enslaved to your arousal, cup yourself to mastery.

Cup your palm & place it on your arousal. Breathe till you feel your heart beat.

Hold your arousal tenderly like you might hold a tiny abandoned newborn rodent, that you found lying on the gravel path of the older White Hindu lady’s backyard as you, a Brown Christian, were helping set up a keyhole garden.

Ever so delicately.

Delicateness does not preclude firmness. In fact, delicateness is necessary for steady, unwavering firmness.

When one acts rough, one’s heart aches in disconnection. Now one may run away from such heart ache by numbing it but that just festers the heart pus, that then leaks out through the body. The body pays the price for roughness. A price that no amount of doctor’s appointments—western or “holistic”—can help you repay.

When you are delicate, you can be firm. Making space for all the past grief that yearns to move through. Grief borne out of past confusions between firmness and roughness. The waters flowing from your eyes cleansing all disease, as you repent and seek forgiveness.

Learn to cup your own arousal with the delicateness of your palms.

Your palms channel Grace.

This is quite evident across cultures. Whether it be images of the Hindu deities whose palms are always facing their devotees. Or charismatic Christians opening up their palms to pray upon each other. Or Muslims sitting with bent knees 5 times a day facing their own palms in prayer.

Your palms channel Grace.

Grace wipes guilt.
Grace wipes shame.
Grace wipes anger.
Grace wipes resentment.

And the Good News is that Grace is freely accessible to all humans! What great news! Truly!

You can wipe out your guilt, shame, anger and resentment with your palms!

And through the utter magic of the ball & socket joint of your shoulder, combined with the partnership of your biceps and triceps that move your elbow lever, and from there, flex or extend the wrist lever, your palms can channel Grace in many directions and to many places!

Channel the grace of your palms to your own arousal. Cup it and breathe to attain mastery over what might otherwise yank you around.

If you are presently enslaved to your arousal, remember in the moment that your hand reaches to stroke. Remember your eyes taking in these words. Remember that you can pause and cup instead.

It doesn’t matter who evoked your arousal. Your arousal doesn’t belong to who evoked it.

It belongs to YOU.
It yearns to be in ALL of you.

Not just torturously locked away in the throb of your loins. But surging up with every breath, channeling the cleansing healing fire, vanquishing any life-sucking disease foes, flooding your entirety with Grace, as ALL of you shudders and throbs in deep surrender.

Cancel that doctor’s appointment.
Cup & breathe your arousal instead.
